Innocence

A child's innocence belongs to her,
her eyes are unaware of danger and
there is a beautiful freedom in that.
She feels safe and never thinks about
someone harming her. Her life has not
been stained with the ugly reality of
hurt and pain. No one has violated her
in any way.

But one day, a stranger, or a relative,
or a babysitter, perhaps even her
mother of father, steals her
innocence forever, and as she hurts,
feels pain and shame, her innocence
has gone away. Her whole life has
changed, ever since the day she was
violated in very private places.

Children should never be treated
that way,but they need our
protection because very bad people
may harm them in the most awful
actions. We must always be there
for them and watch them carefully
so that they may live a life of
innocence as long as they can.
